amusing and addicting.
THIS MIGHT NOT BE SAFE FOR WORK. People put up some stuff on LJ that your company might not like. It seems that on;y about 1 percent of the pictures could be iffy in content though. Most are just funny, odd stuff.

"Why do you have to go? You said that you wanted to stay." She asked.
The door was now open to the fog which waited patiently outside for them. She glanced quickly past his warmth and into the strange orange glow blurring the outlines of the streetlights. It would be five more minutes before they would feel the difference in temperature but their touch was now unlocked and He already had slipped a couple feet down the walkway.
He turned back with a squint, "This is kind of sappy, but I wanted to leave on a high note, you know?" He paused for a moment.
"I...I...want to walk down to my car..." His right arm traveled a clear level plane, "and feel like I'm floating on air."
"I want to drive down the freeway at ridiculous speeds, singing to music and not caring what I sound like."
"I want to never leave this ever expanding bubble I'm in right now, " his eyes and smile dreamed upward, "and fall into bed still thinking of you."
There have been some song name changes according to recent updates and a video from what was originally titled Hell Yeah on the bootleg is now up. This remix is done by this group 8 Bit down here in LA (Highland Park). Best way to describe them visually is a bunch of drunk rapping robots. Hard to explain, but fun to watch.
Beck - "Hell Yes (8 bit remix)
Sunday: spent the weekend working up an advert for our european division of the skin care line. Think it will be in the trade mag Professional Spa UK, feb issue..Personally, I think it looks lame since I'm stuck using the same photos over and over. Had to make up some cheesy [um, just re-read what I wrote..very bad] copy since Mcphee didn't follow through again. Long running problem with the "professionals" the owners hire, but we end up finding out they are all talk. I'm not trained to do some of the things I do..and it shows...but I do a darn good job faking it.
Monday: Watched 24. The first 12 minutes were some of the best action/drama I've seen in a while. A character was revealed to be working for the terrorists..but is she a double agent??. dum dum dum dummm.
Tuesday: Skipped Kiss or Kill and I miss this during the Midway set:
Emily and Theresa came out to the Rocky theme, started boxing. Theresa had a blood pouch in her mouth so after the first punch, it was running down from the side of her mouth. Later celebrating Sean's b-day, he started throwing cupcakes (apparently VERY hard) into the audience. Taking aim and winding up like a pitcher.. a box of krispy kremes crowd surfed in deviance of the new sign making such verboten. Thanks Corey for the highlights.
Wednesday: Went to sleep early Tuesday to get up to:
1) Drive to Gardena @ 1.15 hr
2) drive to downtown LA, pick up a showcase @ 2 hrs total drive and wait
3) Drive to a spa in Plam Springs @ 2 hr
4) set up Spa, but they were nice and cute @ 2 hrs
5) drive back to Gardena @ 2 hrs.
6) then drive home which still took me an hour at 7.30 pm (no traffic = 35 minutes).
Long day, without much to say to the driver/helper. Did a lot of thinking about things and people. I wonder about how things will turn out, trying to see things realistically, but its nice to imagine different endings or solutions. Winning the lotto is always a good ending to my daydreams.
Tired, but wanting some social interaction, went to see the Randies in Downey for the Punk Rock Social. Sounded great even though they were themselves tired from Vegas and had gotten in only a couple hours earlier. I like the Anarchy Library. Small, dark, and Anchor Steam was only 4 bucks, with 50 cent well drink specials. The bartender was great. She would serve me and run away from the bar for five minutes..while people waited, came back just as scattered, served me another drink I didn't order and even though I still had 3/4 left of the beer in my hand, and then skip the same people again. funny. 50 cent drink special ended at 10, but at 11.30 she was still randomly giving it to a lot of people and then charge full price to the next one.
Thursday: Out to Zen for an small AIDS walk benefit. Midway played, some band with a bad singer played, then the headliner was Brown Sabboth...Black Sabbath played funky James Brown style. Emily from Midway played sax. Funny stuff...oh between Cortney, Theresa and myself, I'm 95 percent sure that was Ashlee Simpson there. No booing to be heard and she basically hung out in the back with her friends.
Cool: Just read in my friend Sonia's blog, that she might be on the red carpet covering the Oscars. That's so cool.
Missed the Randies and the Underwater City People last night but I had to sleep and I was getting tired of feeling ill. Among other reasons, I really wanted to go see these two bands play at Mr. T Bowl...The Randies will be playing at a snowboard convention and also opening for Berlin at the House of Blues in Vegas next week..how cool...I would drive out there to see them if I could get in and get back to work the next morning.
yum vegas...must get my penny slot fix soon!
Spent tonight at Alberstons buying ingredients for the best turkey sandwich ever. The cashier asked me how I was doing..if evrything was alright with me tonight or something like that. Not thinking that I had too strange of a look on my face, I replied, "well, it's almost 9 on a Saturday night, and I'm here shopping (pause) alone, it could be better." He has to rescan the Monterey Jack cheese (best sandwich ever), looks up, smiles, "Yeah, you could be stuck here working tonight." my raised eyebrow redirects, "at least you're getting paid for you're time."
pointless posting..I have a lot of other things on my mind. yes it's time for another private posting.
3.5 hours of sleep results in stupid comments on other blogs (and this blog) and band's websites. My day sent me off to the Sunset Strip to set up a 5x6 poster I designed for this spa/salon. It's right on the corner of Doheny and Sunset Blvd. (with the blue neon lights framing the windows), if you happen to be walking around there. So I get stuck driving out there in rush hour traffic to get the poster up in time for their offical grand opening. If you know how bad the 405 is from LAX at that time you can understand what the sixth or seventh layer of Limbo it is. Picked up Corey to help, which he did for free...sucker. Couldn't have made it out by 7 pm without him.
Continued the night picking up Cort for Kiss or Kill at the Echo. Finally got to see Bobot Adrenaline. Extremely impressed...sort of sounds like the pixies, green day, but totally different. Hard to explain. Witnessed the return of the O.A.O.T's with the original drummer back in the line up. Why do they always play one of their best songs first? Then it was Midway (biased pro midway comments, see older postings)..and Nu-tra played next....to be honest, I didn't like them *..... and Bang Sugar Bang (love watching them play as much as listening).
Cort has a cool room-mate, and I just want to say that I've never seen her happier then last night and that makes me happy for her.
In bed by 2.30 awake at 6 am. 3.5 hours of sleep is not enough. grr.
Listening to new Beck and the stream from the Margo Lee site. Tomorrow: Midway at the Hard Rock Cafe at Universal Citywalk. If we get Cort drunk enough, I predict some mechanical bull riding will happen at Saddle ranch chop or whatever it's called.
[*Edit: I didn't like them this time, but I might change my mind after another show. Feel bad since they played well and everyone tells me they are nicest people ever]
So I was browsing through some myspace profiles and the reference of Jesus Candles came up. A quick google search came up with this: The Mexican Jesus Candle Race hmm that's a little boring, so...
Other Jesus google image searches:
Baby Jesus in the Manger Balloon Art
".... There are two versions shown, one with a halo and one without."
Help with the search for the Jesus Pizza!!
Sounds like a good enough cause.

I'm even more sore today than I was yesterday. All from jumping around Tuesday night. I'm just out of shape. I'm craving chinese food. Must stop eating crap.
During BSB, someone got pushed back towards me and their head slammed right into my cheek. Hard. If it had hit my nose it might have broken I thought later. No bruise this morning, but it frigging hurt I tell you!
Talked to a couple people for the first time. Nothing major, just trying to keep my new years resolution for meeting more of the people I see at KorK. Also thanked Kelly-rot (singer for the dollyrots) for the postcard sent out from their last tour. I'm not sure if she even knows my name...I don't think I told her.

In the episode last night the evil mom wanted her son to go to the basement to shoot his girlfriend. I thought wtf? They live in the Valley somewhere not the East Coast.
I don't remember the Brady Bunch house having a frigging basement, do you?
No Shows for Me I've skipped the few shows going on this last week do to the rain and re-adjusting to being back at work. No Margo Lee, no 8 Bit (who were about to fly to Japan to open for the Beastie Boys, but that just fell apart..they are also doing some remixes for Beck too), no Mormons . Nothing.
I'm saving all my energy for the Kiss or Kill Club 2005 kick-off this Tuesday at the Echo. Go! See flyer a couple posts down..I'm re-making a non-sucky one.
Read a great article about Kiss or Kill in the LA Weekly here.
A new Mac? maybe. So part of my job is to do some minor graphic design. Brochures, banners for display booths, folders, one-sheets, etc. Sadly I'm stuck on a PC, and a low powered one at that, which is typical for a small business. My owner gets that this work should be on a mac, and finally I might be getting one! He now wants now to do some video editing and I told him it HAS to be on mac. So a big meeting tommorow to work out the details and what perfect timing since it's Macworld this week where there should be speed bumps and if you believe the rumors: iHome (a low cost mac without a monitor, home media center), new cheaper flash iPods (1-2 gbs), iWorks (a revamped appleworks..think MS office lite), iPod Radio???...Motorola just introduced a cell w/ 1 gb flash memory with itunes last week.
I'm old My first Apple use was in elementary school at the Apple only computer lab. Mind you this was @ 1979. Black screens with green fonts with a cassette (like a music cassette, for you young ones) external drive. The next one I owned was a Mac II, the classic all in one, then I bought one in @ 94 ..a Performa with a Power PC chip. I remember being impressed with a new modem that doubled my speed from 14 kbs to 28.8. I had eWorld, an apple internet service too. Last use was on a G3 tower, but now I'm going to get a dual G5 tower or a powerbook to take home if I can do anything about it.
I'm looking forward to this week.
So I might be getting a room-mate this weekend. Haven't worked out the details, but this a good thing money-wise. Of course this means in a couple months I might be able to afford a small vegas trip. Been almost a year since I've went and want to go with a bunch of people this time and play penny slots and blackjack, and ride the new monorail.
Feed your inner trekkie in Vegas
Now before you dismiss the Star Trek Experience outright, here is a couple tips to make it worthwhile.
1) There is large casino right there, so go only if you're "up", cause 30 bucks is lot for ride no matter how rich you are.
2) Go down stairs inside the ST Exp to Quarks Bar and share one or two of these fish bowl size drinks These are real good and will make you feel all tingly. Oh, and drunk. More so if you don't share.
3) Do the Borg Invasion BEFORE the Klingon Encounter, which is better.
It is actually two "rides" for one price, each lasting @ 15 minutes. This is why it's called an "experience" vs a ride. There's walking and interaction with actors who somehow manage to keep a straight face.

Thunder Lightning Strike
By The Go! Team
Release date: By 27 September, 2004
Las Vegas Monorail,
star trek experience, vegas
It was a good start in the morning: traffic was light, no rain cruising along doing 80 mph on The 105, listening to the Go! Team. I was optimistic for the new year until lunch time.
Basically I work with power hungry idiots.
This guy in the other building who always wants to be in charge, but never actually does anything was stupid enough to:
A) try to do my job
B) try to make me do his job for him
C) threaten to literally kick my ass (he bullies all the mfg plant this way, but the office is my turf) when I flat out told him no and then,
D) flips open his cell saying he's going to call the owner on me (nevermind the fact that the owner's only son just died on Dec 22 and has more important things on his mind)...
after he said that I needed to do what he wanted right then and now so he could go home (it was now 2.30) and my response was to quit his bitching since I was there since 7.30 and hadn't had lunch and that no one heard me bitching about it.
Stupid. It all comes to nothing, he just likes to start shit and knows better. Happens once every few months.
Ended up not eating the whole day (and no daily soda!) until I got home around 6 and I had the worse headache. Laid out on the couch most of the night in the dark. Yeah I'm still pissed off.
stupid meth fucks flipping out. grr.
Saw the new show Committed tonight. Pretty darn funny. I want to meet a "Marti" ( the main wacky, cute, female character)... Not now, I have the "Closed for Improvements" sign hanging outside the The Life of Robert exhibit.
Wednesday: Margo Lee at El Cid.....want to, but I don't think I can make it
Friday: 8 Bit, The Mormons at Mr.T's Bowl. Maybe.
home and writing sounds good too.

Image is low rez. my favorite part is the logo for my fake design company. It's lame like me.
[edit: I should mention that I used the current logos for Kiss or Kill and the Echo, and I'm not taking credit for them.]
